A 29-year-old Porter in Esaaso, near Asamankese, Collins Akrobeto has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment in hard Labour for defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Collins Akrobeto, the accused pleaded guilty when he was charged for defilement by the Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams.
Prosecuting Officer, Sergeant Samuel Owusu told the court that the victim is a primary six pupil in Esaaso Presby Primary School and she was with her Aunty, Akua Agyeman, who is the complainant in this case.
The prosecutor said about three weeks ago, the accused person who was a Labourer with the complainant induced the victim with money and lured her into his room, and defiled her.
According to the prosecutor, the accused, after defiling the girl gave her money and paid her transportation fee to travel from Eaaso to Juaso-Kumasi where her biological mother is without the knowledge of the complainant.
A report was made to the police and the victim was brought from Juaso and upon interrogation, the victim confessed that the accused defiled her and the police gave her medical for to the Asamankese Government Hospital for examination after which the Doctors confirmed that the victim has been sexually assaulted.
The accused was later arrested and charged and was sent to court for prosecution.
