Five-member interim executives have been sworn-in to steer the affairs of the ruling New Patriotic Party in Akropong Constituency in the Eastern region after failing to hold an election to elect executives having had their term of office expired.
The interim Executives sworn in Wednesday, June 8, 2021, are
Mr. Foster Adu Dartey – Chairman
Mrs. Evelyn Aikins – Secretary
Mr. Emmanuel Yirenkyi Antwi – Organiser
Mrs. Gifty Obuobi – Treasurer
Mrs. Regina Appleton – Women Organiser
The interim executives were endorsed by the Polling station Executives and Electoral Area Coordinators of the Akropong Constituency at an Extra-Ordinary Conference.
The interim Constituency Executives will lead and manage the affairs of the Party in the Constituency until the elections of substantive executives are organized.
The Regional Secretary for the party in the Eastern Region, Tony Osei Adjei after swearing in the Interim executives, charged them to lead in transparency and fairness and also thanked the conference for adopting the proposal tabled by the Regional executives and assuring them of speedy resolution of all court cases for the election to be held.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament Nana Ama Dokua has been impressed upon by the polling station executives and Coordinators to speak to her supporters to withdraw the injunction for the election to be held.
The Akropong MP will battle the parliamentary slot with Sammy Awuku now the CEO of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
