Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana, Kofi Percival Apkaloo, has responded to allegations that he misrepresented funds given to the family of late Madam Akua Donkor.
In an interview on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, he said the delegation were leaving the Jubilee House when he returned and went back to the Chief of staff to request money for the family members, because he realized they needed money after officially informing the President of the demise of the GFP leader.
“I gave 4 people GHC5,000 each, I also gave the family lawyer GHC3,000 while the adopted child, Mary was given additional GHC1,300 for fuel aside the GHC5,000 earlier given to her. I again gave 3 ladies GHC3,000 each, another gentleman GHC4,000 so no family can say that he had less than GHC3,000.
“The GHC20,000 aside the one the chief of staff gave is my own money so I choose what to do with my money and also I pity people easily so I give easily But after doing all this, people will still stand out or go to social media and say what ever they want just to tarnish my image “ Mr Akpaloo stated
Mr. Apkaloo reaffirmed his commitment to his integrity, stating that his family name is respected and he would never bring shame to it and the family, but in this world, ‘people can hate you for no reason so they will try their best to tarnish your reputation’.
