The Akropong District Police Command in the Eastern Region has arrested a 32-year-old woman-Comfort Duodu for possessing GHS50 and GHS20 Notes suspected to be a fake currency.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the deceased was arrested on March 13, 2020, around 5:45pm
“Police at Adawso received a call that a woman has been caught in Adawso market buying foodstuffs and other items with fake money. Police rushed to the market and met a lot of traders who are victims holding the suspect Comfort Duodua aged, 32, from Nsawam.”
He said, when Police got to the scene, they saw a lot of traders who had surrounded the suspect, Comfort Duodua, who claim to live at Nsawam.
“Suspect was arrested and a search conducted in her black bag revealed the sum of GH¢1110 with the same serial numbers Comprising of GH₵50 notes and three GH¢20 notes. At the charge office, ten victims came to the police station with 50 cedis note each with the same serial numbers having received from the suspect.”
