As part of the process to help electorates make strong decisions in the forthcoming general elections, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized parliamentary candidates (PCs) dialogue to assess the candidates in the Akuapem North Constituency of the Eastern Region.
The dialogue was to provide a platform for parliamentary candidates to outline their visions for electorates to decide in the December polls in the Akuapem North Constituency.
The dialogue was organized by the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) in the municipality.
The Akuapem North NCCE Director, Madam Benedicta Duvor, explained that NCCE has provided the opportunity to PCs to outline plans to solve challenges in the constituency, which includes employment, health, education, road network, economy, and agriculture, when given the nod as a Member of Parliament.
Madam Benedicta Duvor continued that the NCCE as part of the electoral process hosted a dialogue for PCs to provide pre-solutions to address the concerns and needs of their constituents in the municipality.
Speaking in an interview with the Bryt fm, Madam Benedicta Duvor pleaded with parliamentary aspirants to desist from electoral violence and focus on an issue-based campaign ahead of the December polls.
She said that voters will decide on the answers provided by PCs on education, roads, health and employment, and agriculture. She called for peaceful elections in the constituency to protect the good reputation of the electorates.
Madam Benedicta Duvor called eligible voters in the constituency to exercise their right in the upcoming general elections.
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem North Constituency, Mr. John Evans Kumordzi, at the program also outlined his vision for the constituency when given the nod as a lawmaker, saying that the Akuapem North parliamentary seat has been captured by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years.
Mr. John Kumordzi confidently vowed that the NDC will snatch the Akuapem North parliamentary seat based on measures put in place ahead of the upcoming general elections.
On health, he promised healthcare centers in the area to help improve the health care delivery by supporting the less privileged with free renewal of health insurance cards.
On employment, Mr. John Kumordzi stated that NDC has put in place strategic measures to provide employment for the constituents, adding that his outfit will provide students with scholarships to further their education.
With agriculture, he said that the NDC will revive state farms with farming equipment in order to make farming more attractive for the electorates in the constituency.
Solutions provided by Mr. John Kumordzi on employment, health, education, road network, economy, and agriculture were awe-inspiring.
Electorates gathered at the program applauded Mr. John Kumordzi on the solutions provided on employment, health, education, road networks, the economy, and agriculture.
Mr. Samuel Awuku, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapem North Constituency, Sammy Awuku has failed to appear at the parliamentary dialogue.
The Deputy Women Organizer for the New Patriotic Party, Christiana Otoo, represented the NPP, calling for peace ahead of the elections.
