The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has discounted the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) claim that it winning the 2020 elections. The NDC has held its first press conference after polls closed in the 2020 elections claiming an impending victory. The party’s Director of Elections Elvis Afriyie Ankrah claimed that the NDC had flipped 36 parliamentary seats held by the NPP.
But in a counter-press conference, the NPP’s General Secretary John Boadu has described the NDC’s claim as a flip flop.
Boadu also listed a number NDC seats he claims the NPP had won saying they hold the majority contrary to their opponent’s claims. John Boadu went ahead to claim that President Nana Akufo-Addo has got an unassailable lead over the NDC’s John Mahama in the presidential elections.
According to him, the NPP had received results from 34,040 polling stations representing 87.43 per cent of the total of 38, 933 total. Out of the number, Boadu claimed that Akufo-Addo won 6, 085, 000 (6.085 million) representing 52.72 per cent as against Mahama’s 5,308,000 (5.308 million) representing 45.93 per cent.
