Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team member Dr. KK Sarpong has eulogized former president, Akufo-Addo stating emphatically that he has paid his dues and sees him as an icon in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Dr. Sarpong, former president Akufo-Addo’s during his tenure as president served with dignity and that indeed makes him an icon of the party.
Dr. Sarpong who seemed furious about the utterances of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team added that it’s time the latter called his supporters to order by putting some respect on the name of the former president.
Dr. Sarpong voiced concerns in a one-on-one interview on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show on allegations that President Akufo-Addo denied Dr. Bawumia space to work when they were in government. He called the former president “an icon of the party” and contended that such comments are unjust and disrespectful.
“Statements like ‘Akufo-Addo didn’t give Bawumia the space to work’ are wrong. The former President has paid his dues; he’s an icon in the party. Those who served in his administration should be careful with their utterances because we campaign on some of his legacies. I hope Dr. Bawumia wasn’t the one who sent them. If he wasn’t, then he should call them to order,” Dr. kk Sarpong stated.
He also emphasized that Dr. Bawumia ought to have openly denounced such accusations as he personally profited from the Akufo-Addo administration.
“Dr. Bawumia should have come out to say it’s not true because he was part of that administration and enjoyed its benefits,” he added.
