The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has compared President Akufo-Addo to Moses in the Bible.
Speaking to the media, he stated that Akufo-Addo’s goal is to transform Ghana into a better nation, emulating the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land.
But obstacles like COVID-19, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the war between Israel and Palestine in Iraq have hampered President Akufo-Addo’s goals.
“Everyone will see that Akufo-Addo has served well. It is sad that Akufo-Addo has now gotten to where he had wanted to take us due to some circumstances like “Covid-19”, “Russia – Ukraine war”, “Israel-Palestine Iraq war”.
He claims that in order for Akufo-Addo to atone, he has given the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia—who in the Bible is a biblical Joshua—the responsibility of guiding the nation toward its anticipated conclusion.
He continued by saying that Bawumia’s running companion would be competent and helpful enough to help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win a third term and lead the nation to its goal.
“Therefore Moses Akufo-Addo has handed the rod to Joshua Bawumia. When Bawumia’s running mate is unveiled that person will become Caleb to support Joshua Bawumia for Ghanaians to cross the red sea,” he added.
