President Akufo-Addo beseeched the pastorate and members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church (RPNGC), to pray for his victory in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections set to take place on the 7th of December 2020.
The President appealed when he addressed the leadership and enthusiastic congregation of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church today, Sunday, the 25th of October 2020.
The visit to the Church which is located in the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region was the first stop of the first day of the President Akufo-Addo’s four (4) day working tour of the Greater Accra Region.
“Every year and you well know, I leave the Jubilee House to tour the countryside to get first-hand evidence of what is going on on the ground. I have toured fifteen (15) regions of the country and I am commencing a tour of the last of the sixteen regions in the country in the Greater Accra Region. I felt that I should start my tour with a visit to the Church so I can obtain blessings from Reverend Boakye to make my tour a successful one,” President Akufo-Addo said.
“Just like I came here in 2016 for your prayers that secured my victory, it is the same reason why I have come back again to ask for your prayers and support ahead of the 2020 elections so I will once again be successful in the 2020 elections,” President Akufo-Addo added.
As part of his visit to worship with the congregation, President Akufo-Addo gave an offering of twenty-five thousand cedis (25,000) as his seed.
Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye is the Senior Pastor of the church which started in 2002 with a membership of between 45 and 50 but can now boast of a membership of over 80,000 nationwide. The Kasoa branch of the church where the President visited has a congregation of about thirty thousand (30,000) members.
