The Eastern Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission has announced that Nana Akufo Addo garnered a total of 729,146 votes out of 1,264,827 valid votes cast in the Presidential election in the Region.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama Presidential Candidate of the opposition NDC also polled a total of 454,176 votes, according to the Eastern Regional Director of Electoral Commission Faith Amedzake who addressed the media Tuesday evening.
She said total ballots cast in the region were 1,236,940 out of which 27,887 were rejected.
The voter population in the region was 1,634,166.

The Eastern Region is the stronghold of the ruling NPP and home region of President Akufo Addo.
In 2016, Nana Akufo Addo garnered 626,893 votes represented 63.11% as against John Mahama who had 355,798 votes represented 35.82%.
Ghana went to the polls on December 7, 2020, to elect a president and 275 legislators. The Electoral Commission is yet to declare the Presidential results of the 12 candidates who contested.
