The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Kwetey, has stated emphatically that the present Akufo-Addo administration, according to him, is the Fourth Republic’s most dishonest and incapable administration, and they ought to be shown the door.
Speaking to reporters on January 26 after Dr. Cassie Ato Forson, the recently designated minority leader, paid a visit to the NDC’s leadership in Accra, Mr. Kwetey said “what Ghanaians require of us is to work towards taking out of power the most abysmal, the most incompetent, the most corrupt government in the history of our country. so we have had a beautiful conversation.”
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson acknowledged during the same news conference that Haruna Iddrisu, his immediate predecessor, had a lot of success during that time.
He stated that in order to do that, he and his team will collaborate closely with the Haruna leadership.
He said, “we came here first to thank them for the honor shown us and the confidence that they believe that we are the ones to lead the Minority in Parliament. We have also recognized that the work that has been given to us will require dedication and obviously a lot more than just sitting down. We have said that we will deliver just that.
“We have agreed with the leadership of our party that, beginning today, there will be a series of activities that will be undertaken.
“The minority caucus will have our maiden meeting with our leadership and the party leadership on Tuesday 31st of January 2023. It is our hope that in the meeting we will resolve all outstanding issues, and we will also wish to assure our former leaders that this new leadership will work with them in good faith. We know obviously that the Honorable Haruna’s leadership chalked a lot of successes.” He stated.
