The Begoro Police in Eastern Region has arrested the suspect accused of allegedly killing his sister in cold blood.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the suspect -George Keanu was arrested at his hideout after Intelligence.
He said the suspect will be put before the court to be remanded while the docket forwarded to Attorney General for advice.
George Keanu was accused of allegedly killing his sister at Akyem Begoro in the Fanteakwa North District and went into hiding.
The body of the deceased Gladys Agyemang has been deposited at the Begoro District Hospital.
The incident occurred on Monday, December 27, 2021, at about 7:40pm.
The deceased was found in a pool of blood with multiple cutlass wounds by two residents Ebenezer Adu and Kwarteng Victor Ansah who rushed her to Begoro government hospital but unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.
The witnesses told Police they highly suspect one Keanu Aboagye, brother of the deceased for the murder.
Police proceeded to Begoro District Hospital where Police were informed that the deceased was rushed to the said hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was inspected and multiple cutlass wounds were found all over the upper body.
The body was deposited at the same hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, strenuous efforts are underway to get the suspect who is currently on the run arrested.
