The incident happened Monday around 12:45pm when the pit suddenly collapsed on him.
Mybrytfmonline has gathered that the victim went to an abandoned mining site of a mining firm in the company of others to engage in illegal mining.
However, whilst mining, the already fractured hanging wall of the pit suddenly collapsed on him.
The body of the deceased identified only as Dogbeda in his 30’s has been retrieved after an excavator was brought to the scene to remove the sand on him.
The corpse has been deposited at the Kibi Government Hospital Morgue by the Police with support from officials of NADMO who were at the scene.
