Akyem Oda Market Central market in the Birim Central Municipality in Eastern Region has been razed down by a devastating inferno that gutted the market last night.
The fire outbreak, according to an eyewitness started at about 8:00pm however was only extinguished around 2:00am due to difficulty fire service personnel had in accessing the market with their fire tender.
The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown.
An eyewitness told mybrytfmonline.com that, millions of properties in shops have been burnt into ashes by the inferno.
He said explosions were heard at the scene of the fire.
Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service and the National Disaster Management Organization are at the scene this morning to commence Investigation.
