Hopeson Adorye, a former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has defended his affiliation with the Movement for Change and Alan Kyerematen.
He claims that the former Minister of Trade and Industry pays him each month, which enables him to put food on his table. He is adamant that he will never leave Alan Kyerematen.
This was revealed by Hopeson Adorye during an interview on the Accra-based radio station OKAY FM.
“I insisted that Alan Kyerematen pay me every month, so that is my position, and nothing will change about it. Alan feeds me, and I will support him any day. So if, after a few days, this is done, then you know that Gabby Otchere Darko is behind it,” he said while explaining his support for Alan Kyerematen.
Adorye and three other members of the group were expelled from the party for openly supporting a candidate other than the one the party had legitimately elected to the presidency in 2024.
Former Madina MP Boniface Abubakar Saddique, former communications director Yaw Buaben Asamoa, and former general secretary Nana Ohene Ntow are the other members impacted.
This endorsement, according to a statement issued by NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, violates the party’s constitution, specifically Articles 3(5) (A) and 3(9)(1).
