Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten, a flagbearer candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to help the party win two million votes in the Ashanti Region in order to help the party maintain power beyond the 2024 general elections.
He claims that he is qualified to head the NPP in the general elections of 2024 and that delegates should take this into account while casting their votes.
According to him, the party needs two million votes from the Ashanti Region alone in order to win the 2024 elections, and he is the only one who can assist the party get those votes.
He claimed that the NPP will suffer greatly if he is not chosen as its flagbearer for the 2024 elections since Ghanaians favor him over the other contenders.
Speaking in Bidieso in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region as part of his campaign trip, Mr. Kyeremanten claimed the party would have a chance to remain in power if he were chosen as the flagbearer.
On November 4, 2023, 10 candidates—including Mr. Kyeremanten—will compete for the party’s flagbearer position.
He urged attendees to resist any pressure to support candidates who might hinder the party’s chances of winning the general elections in 2024.
Aside from his capacity to garner two million votes in the Ashanti Region, he stated, he is also the chosen candidate who may garner more votes in the Volta Region to weaken the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of opposition.
He asserted that the party must choose him as its leader going into the elections if it doesn’t want to become the opposition.
