In an unexpected change of events, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is reportedly receiving backing from the Northern Regional Coordinator for Alan Kyerematen, Ismail Yahuza, who is said to have defected from his original team.
According to reports, Yahuza, a defeated candidate for the National Vice Chairmanship and a fervent admirer of Kyerematen, issued a statement praising Dr. Bawumia’s abilities and accomplishments as Vice President and expressing confidence in his capacity to lead the party in the up-and-coming elections.
Yahuza’s decision to leave the party has given Dr. Bawumia’s campaign for the position of party leader a further boost. Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is becoming seen as the best candidate to lead the NPP in future elections due to increased support from inside the party.
He is a uniting factor in the party because both Christians and Muslims are drawn to his message of inclusion, skill, and dedication to peace.
The NPP will need to rally around a capable leader who can unify the party and guide it to victory in the elections of 2024 as the campaign intensifies.
Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is becoming viewed as the best choice to accomplish this aim and is receiving strong support from inside the party.
