The Third National Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Masawudu Osman, has expressed sympathy for Ghana’s Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, over what he describes as baseless accusations against certain NPP appointees.
According to Alhaji Masawudu, the criminal allegations being leveled against some members of the NPP government lack credible evidence and are politically motivated.
Speaking on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show with host Kwabena Sam Biney, the NPP Vice Chairman stated emphatically that his party will confront the Attorney-General “boot for boot” in the coming days if such actions continue.
He also criticized Mr. Ayine’s recent conduct, describing it as “incompetent” and warning that the NPP will not hesitate to respond in kind when it returns to power after the 2028 general elections.
Alhaji Masawudu further alleged that some judges are being influenced by the current NDC-led government, a situation he believes undermines the independence of the judiciary.
