President John Dramani Mahama has been urged by Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the founder and general overseer of Action Chapel International, to spearhead a daring transformation plan that will fortify the economy and bring the country together under a distinct, long-term development vision.
During Tuesday, July 1st’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Accra’s State House, the esteemed priest called on President Mahama to make a lasting impression during his second term in office.
“Mr President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership and let things get better and better under your leadership like never before,” he declared, drawing strong applause from the congregation.
Additionally, Archbishop Duncan-Williams emphasized the importance of a values-based national identity that is rooted in faith and patriotism.
“We need to develop a strong love for God. Also, love the country and the love for Ghana,” he said, warning against political divisions that weaken national progress.
Similar to long-term development plans in nations like China, India, and Dubai, which he said have 100-year national visions that cut across political cycles, he advocated for the urgent creation of a comprehensive national agenda.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he added.
