South Africa’s former President Jacob Zuma has been suspended from the African National Congress (ANC).
He is accused for refusing to support the party and forming a rival organization.
The ANC said Zuma’s behavior did not align with he party’s values and merited his exclusion.
In a letter, the ANC accused its former leader of debasing the “proud history of armed struggle against the apartheid regime” through the “opportunistic use of military symbolism.”
