Ghana international Andre Ayew has joined the masses in mourning the tragic passing of government officials in helicopter crash.
Last Wednesday, government officials including Defense Ministers, Dr Omane Boamah and Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and other men with the Ghana Armed Forces perished in the plane crash in the Ashanti Region unfortunately perished in plane crash.
Additionally, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong – Vice Chairman, NDC and Mr. Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary candidate and three Ghana Armed Forces crew also lost their lives.
However, Ayew, who was in attendance for the burial service for the two Muslim victim has shared deep sorrow, while extending condolences to bereaved families.
“Earlier today His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama led the nation in a solemn farewell at the Military Cemetery for Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed the Muslim victims of the August 6 helicopter crash laid to rest in accordance with Islamic tradition”
“His heartfelt words and the ceremony he organized brought comfort and unity in this time of grief while the National Chief Imam led prayers for the departed It was also a moment to remember Dr Edward Omane Boamah and the five other distinguished individuals who dedicated their lives to serving our nation and tragically lost them that day”
“Being among His Excellency the President several ministers and the bereaved families in this moment of national reflection and mourning was deeply moving. May their souls rest in perfect peace and may their families find strength in this difficult time. Inna Lillahi wa inna llayhi raji’un” he wrote on social media.
