Andre Ayew is facing an uncertain future with the Black Stars after being excluded from the squad for the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
The Black Stars will play Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on September before traveling to face Niger in Morocco in the opening AFCON qualifiers next month.
Otto Addo unveiling his squad for the two crucial games omitted Ayew, who is currently unattached, signaling the end of his Black Stars career.
Ayew was not involved when the Black Stars played Mali and Central Africa Republic during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers back in June.
In his absence, Ghana recorded back to back wins to revive their qualification chances.
This is the second time Ayew has been excluded from the Black Stars. This means his future with the national team is nearing an end.
“Andre Ayew is a good player, but at the moment, he is not here. He doesn’t have a club, but nobody knows the future.
“If he gets a club and performs and scores 20 goals, maybe he can return because we are building something for the future.” Otto Addo said at a press conference.
