Frank Annoh-Dompreh, a member of parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, argues that lower transportation costs should lead to lower prices for products and services.
Starting today, Wednesday, May 17, transportation costs will decrease by 10%.
This follows the expectation of a decrease in fuel costs.
Transport operators in a statement on Monday, May 15 said “In line with the administrative arrangement on public transport fares, the road transport operators have reduced public transport fares by 10 per cent to accommodate for the reduction in the price of petroleum products observed over the period.”
“We further request all operators, commuters and the public to kindly cooperate for the successful implementation of the new fares”, the statement concluded.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh, the majority chief whip and a commentator on this development, stated, “Let’s keep working on cutting the expense of living and especially making sure that the public benefit from it. It is also necessary to lower the price of products and services.
“These are the led’s proper heirlooms. Jealously and passionately, let’s us focus on these…yes, we can!”
