Malik Basintale, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) deputy communications officer, has stated that his party wins anytime elections are free and fair and underlined the importance of being vigilant in elections.
He said, “Anytime there is vigilance, anytime things are done right, the NDC wins,” during his appearance on Joy News’ AM Show on Monday, December 16.
Mr. Basintale went on to say that two crucial elements are responsible for the NDC’s electoral success: educating the public about their ideas and, above all, maintaining vigilance during the election process.
“That is what we did in the election,” he said, emphasizing that it was this combination of campaigning and careful monitoring that led to the party’s resounding victory.
He considered the 2016 election, which he says was tainted by manipulation of the system.
Mr. Basintale claims that the Electoral Commission (EC) verified that the system had been shut down, which he says had a direct impact on the outcome of the election.
“We know what we’re saying because our internal research unit found that the system was hacked, and the EC confirmed it”, he asserted.
