Hon. Samuel Awuku, Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, underscored his concern about how biased the laws of the country are being applied, being he calling upon the youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to arise and call for their freedom.
According to the legislator, the rule of law is deliberately been selectively applied, and that is not good for our democracy.
The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), along with some party members and some parliamentary members, demonstrates on the streets of Accra against what they describe as state harassment and police intimidation of their party members by the current government.
The determined group began their protest at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, marching resolutely towards Jubilee House.
Adding her voice was the former MP of Okaikoi South, Mad. Darkoa Newman, who emphatically stated that, ‘’We just want a fair and just society, that’s it. That treats everybody equally, doesn’t have a friendly law for some in government, and then a different law for those in opposition,’’ she said.
