Ark Development Organization(ADO) has joined forces with the Ga West Municipal Health Management Team to organize a refresher capacity building workshop on COVID-19.
The initiative, supported by Global Communities Ghana, aimed to equip Community Based Health Volunteers, COVID Ambassadors, and Leaders of marginalized groups with essential tools to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
The workshop, held in Ga West Municipal, brought together 10 Community Based Health Volunteers, 10 COVID Ambassadors, and 10 Leaders of marginalized groups.
The collective goal was to empower participants to effectively engage with their communities, fostering awareness and understanding to overcome vaccine hesitancy.
Under the COVAX Sensitization Project, the initiative seeks to achieve herd immunity in the municipality by tackling vaccine hesitancy head-on.
The comprehensive approach involves not only health volunteers but also community leaders who play a vital role in influencing opinions and fostering trust.
The Executive Director of Ark Development Organization, Emmanuel Kwarfo Mintah said the concerted effort reflects a commitment to public health, stating the importance of community involvement in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the project aligns with global vaccination initiatives, contributing to the broader goal of widespread immunity.
Emmanuel Kwarfo Mintah expressed gratitude for the support from Global Communities Ghana, highlighting the significance of collaborative endeavors in overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic.
As the workshop concludes, the focus shifts to the implementation of strategies learned, with the hope of creating a positive impact on COVID-19 vaccination rates in Ga West Municipal.
