In a strategic move to combat illegal mining activities among the youth in the Eastern Region, Armageddon Boxing Club has launched a boxing training facility in Akyem Osino, Fanteakwa South district.
The newly established facility is poised to transform the lives of young individuals engaged in illegal mining by offering them an alternative path as amateur and professional boxers.
Agyekum Kenneth, alias King Armaggedon ,the founder of Armageddon Boxing Club, expressed confidence that this initiative would provide a constructive outlet for the energy and passion of youth in mining areas.
Kenneth stressed on the global popularity of boxing and the potential for individuals to achieve recognition and financial success in the sport.
The vision is to shift focus from illegal mining to developing boxing skills, offering a pathway for aspiring boxers to make a name for themselves.
Emmanuel Doku, a respected boxing coach, praised the initiative, emphasizing the need for such opportunities in the Eastern Region.
He believes that nurturing local boxing talents can reignite Ghana’s past glory in the sport, as aspiring young boxers strive to become professionals.
