A 20 year old Electrician, Iddrisu Ibrahim has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in hard Labour for stealing and robbing Harrikof Energy Filling Station at Akurakese, near Akyem Techiman in the Kwaebibirim Municipality.
Iddrisu Ibrahim Pleaded guilty to robbery, Contrary to section 149 of the Criminal offence Act 1960(29), amended by the Criminal Code Act 2003(646).
Detective Chief Inspector Agbeko Novor, Prosecution officer told the court that the complainants, Amenorvi Sena Maxwell and Paul Dankwah are Filling station attendants at Harrikof Energy Enterprise at Akurakese near Akyem-Takyimang, while the accused person lddrisu lbrahim is an auto
Electrician and a resident of Apinamang.
On 31/12/2022, about 2:30pm, while the complainants were in their room made with a wooden structure, the accused person suddenly rushed on them with a locally manufactured pistol and ordered them to lie down and bring out the money they had on them to him else he would shoot them to death to celebrate the Christmas.
Out of fear of their dear lives, they obliged and in the course, the accused person succeeded in robbing the complainant’s of cash the sum of Gh¢15,900.00, and two mobile phones and after that he bolted.
After the incident, the complainants reported the matter at Akyem-Takyimang Police station for investigations, and on 03/02/2023 the accused was arrested by the youth of Apinamang in connection with another robbery case which happened on 04/01/2023 at Apinamang and was brought to Akwatia for investigation.
On 06/02/2023, the
complainants had information that the accused had been arrested and detained at Akwatia and so they came and after an identification parade,the complainants identified the accused person as the one who robbed them of their monies and mobile phones.
After investigation accused was charged with the offence and arraigned before the honourable court for prosecution.
