House Of DL Fan Club, a group created to support and celebrate legendary Ghanaian musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba has cut sod for the Construction of 50 bed capacity Female Ward for the Asamankese Government Hospital in the Eastern Region.
The Ultra Modern ward is expected to be completed before September 2024 to be Commissioned by Daddy Lumba to mark his 60th birthday and the project will cost about ¢650,000.00.
Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, President of the DL Fun Club, Mr. Emmanuel Chissah said the group for the past years has been supporting people on the street and had supplied Health equipments to Kasoa Amanfrom and Supported Dzorwulu Special School to mark Lumba’s recent birthday.
According to him, three places in three Regions were under Consideration for the 50 bed capacity Female Ward and Asamankese won because Daddy Lumba and other members of the Fun Club are from Asamankese and called on major stakeholders to support them to complete the project on time.
Mr. Emmanuel Chissah said the project will not destruct any ongoing projects and it is not to push any secret agenda but just to reach out humanity and to celebrate legendary Ghanaian musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu.
Coordinating Director for West Akim Municipal Assembly, Mr. Moses Kobla Joshua, lauded the Fun Club for their move to Construct the Ultra Modern ward and said the Assembly will welcome any group or philanthropist who is ready to invest or Support the Municipality.
Director of Health Services for the Municipality, Dr. Samuel Agyeman Boateng said current ward at the Hospital is very small to accommodate Females who normally visit Hospital more than males and was optimistic that the new structure, when completed will support health care in the area.
He called on DL Fun Club members to speed up the project and called on others to come to their aid to expand infrastructure at the Municipal Hospital.
