The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has remanded a 30-year old herbalist, James Vivor, popularly known as Gaddafi into Prison custody for causing harm to one Rukaya Hussien with Machete.
The accused, James Vivor is expected to reappear on 16th October 2023 as investigation continues.
Inspector Samuel Owusu, the prosecution Officer said the victim is currently in critical condition at the Hospital in Koforidua, hence, the plea to the court to remand the accused.
Prosecution statement said the Complainant is Gado Adams, a mechanic residing at Old
Zongo – Asamankese and the accused James Vivor is Herbalist residing at Krofofrom.
It said On Sunday 10/09/23 at about 9:30pm, complainant’s sister Rakia Hussein was on her way from Old Zongo to see her boy friend Malaiki at Beposo and took a short cut through a plantain farm near the Assemblies of God Church and on the way, the accused attacked her with a machete and inflicted deep machete wounds on the right arm and left leg and abandoned her to bleed to death.
The Victim screamed for help and some passer-by went to her rescue and took her to Asamankese Hospital for treatment but was later referred to Koforidua due to the
severity of the injury.
A report was made to Police. On 11/09/23, intelligence led to the arrest of the accused at Krofofrom and Victim is currently in critical condition at Koforidua Regional Hospital.
