Some members of the New Patriotic Party in the Lower West Akim Constituency in the Eastern Region have led the Asamankese Police to the house of Mr. Joseph Ameyaw,a former vice chairman for the Constituency who is also a campaign team member for Member of Parliament for the Area and retrieved assorted items from him which are believed to be stolen.
The items, according to the aggrieved NPP members were purchased by the member of Parliament, Honourable Charles Acheampong to be distributed to party members in the Constituency but Mr. Joseph Ameyaw allegedly refused to share them.
The items includes Sewing machines, hair dryers, Motorcycles Party T-shirt and others.
All the items have been handed over to the Police for further investigation.
On 7th December 2024 Parliamentary elections, Honourable Charles Acheampong was defeated by Mr.Owen Kwame Frimpong who Polled 23,138 for the NDC against 21,573 votes for NPP.
The NPP has been on the seat since the year 2000 but failed to retain in 2024.
