Pollster Ben Ephson, tagged Mr Asamoah Boateng as a sore loser as he insists that vote-buying has become a permanent feature of Ghanaian politics since politicians are responsible for it, and it will not end.
His remarks follow those of Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng (Asabee), the unsuccessful candidate for national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who accused the eventual victor, Stephen Ntim, of purchasing votes at the recently concluded NPP national delegates conference.
Asabee claimed that whereas his rivals were offering money in exchange for votes, he only provided the delegates’ transportation after personally visiting them throughout the campaign.
On Monday, July 18, 2022, Mr Ephson responded to this claim on the Class Morning Show on Class91.3FM, saying Asabee was just being a bitter loser.
“Asamoah Boateng was a sore loser and I’ve told him personally, I said: ‘Massa, you lost it, stop it. He’s been a member of parliament before, is he saying he didn’t pay money to get a vote? What is he talking about paying TNT (transport fare), are they your children?” Mr Ephson was quizzed in an interview with show host Kofi Oppong Asamoah.
