Interim coach of Asante Kotoko Johnson Smith is pleased with his side’s 1-1 draw against West African Football Academy (WAFA) at Sogakope on matchday 9 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Academy boys took the lead in the first half through dangerman Daniel Lomotey before Kwame Poku restored parity in the second half.
Speaking after the game, the former Karela United trainer said, “I’m okay because the boys played the type of game I wanted them to play in the second half. If they had played the same in the first half, we wouldn’t have conceded the goal”
“I have never lost a game at Sogakope as a coach and so I am okay with this results. We planned to win, we cannot embark on a long journey to lose. So the plan was to win and if we are not able to win we don’t have to lose” he said.
Asante Kotoko sit 7th position with 13 points with a game to spare.
