Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has summoned 25 players for the crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against Wydad Casablanca this weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors faces a daunting task in Morocco after falling short to Wydad in the first leg of the second preliminary round fixture, held at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
The Ghanaian giants are currently on their way to the North African country for their crunch game against Wydad, scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025.
However, coach Karim Zito has announced his traveling squad with notable players like Albert Amoah, Samba O’Neil, Patrick Asiedu, Peter Amidu, and Emmanuel Antwi making the cut.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, who is suspended for the return leg has been included in the traveling squad.
Striker Joseph Bakasu scored the only goal of the match in the first leg, ensuring his outfit return to the North African country with the advantage. A corner kick in the 47th minute wasn’t properly dealt with by Kotoko’s defence, with Bakasu capitalizing on it to fire home from close range for the match-winner.
Despite the defeat, Karim Zito has refused to give up on qualification, assuring a much improved performance in the return leg this weekend.
“It’s not over for us. Anything can happen in the return leg. We are not going there as losers, we are going to stamp our feet and play better than what we did here” he added.
The much-anticipated clash against the Moroccan giants has been scheduled to take place at the Mohammed V Sports Complex.
