Ghana and I. K Start midfield gem, Isaac Twum is hopeful about Kotoko’s chances of making a huge impact in Africa next season.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold have been selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to represent Ghana in next year’s CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup after the cancellation of the season due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
The former Inter Allies captain in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM expressed optimism about Kotoko making a meaningful impact in Africa and has, therefore rallied support for the Kumasi based club.
He said he knows the capabilities of Maxwell Konadu who is currently to the coach of Kotoko and has affirmed that if the players will go by his instructions they can go far in the competition.
Speaking to S. K. Ntim of Bryt FM, the former Black Stars B skipper said, “Both Kotoko and Ashantigold were performing well before the season was annulled. I have worked with Maxwell Konadu and I know what he is capable of doing. So if the players will listen to his game plan then I think Kotoko can go far in Africa this time around”
He continued that, “I will also plead with other clubs in the country to support our representatives in Africa rather than sabotaging them because they are not going in the name of Kotoko or Ashantigold but rather, they are representing the entire country”
“If we support them and they can make an impact I believe we can get our missing slots back. I’m certain about Kotoko making impact in Africa” he concluded.
