The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has commended the Managing Director of State Housing Company, Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah for his tireless efforts in turning around the fortunes of a dying institution into a most sought-after real estate company in Ghana.
“When the mantle fell on you as MD of State Housing Company Limited, you came to me for advice. I told you to be principled and proactive in providing affordable houses to our people. Today, I’m happy to hear that you took my advice and families are moving into decent accommodation provided by SHC across the country because”, Asantehene observed.
Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, MD of SHC was at Manhyia to pay homage as well as to express gratitude to Opemsuo for his unending support to the developmental agenda of SHC.
The MD who was humbled by the recognition of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II assured Manhyia that he would make securing accommodation accessible.
“We are very grateful for your kind words and we want to assure you that we would not disappoint you. We are poised to close the housing deficit in the country” he said.
SHC is currently undertaking 3 major projects in Kumasi headlined by the John Agyekum Kufour Estate at Oyoko Akrofuom near Kumasi.
Through the instrumentality of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, SHC has secured land for the construction of houses across the Ashanti Region.
The 225 housing unit project of the J.A. Kufuor Estate is being constructed in honor of former President John Agyekum Kufuor for his initiative in addressing the housing deficit in the country during his administration.
SHC has secured land in Dedesua and Bomfa Achiase for the construction of houses at competitive prices.
