Over thousand Students and Teachers are expected to storm Krobo Girls SHS at Odumase-Krobo today, Thursday, February 13, at the to witness the grand finale of the 2019/2020 Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I National Energy Quiz for Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Eastern
The three schools for the finals are the Asamankese SHS, Oyoko Methodist SHS and Nkwatia SHS who exhibited a diversity of ability, talent, and formidability in the build-up towards the grand finale.
The winning school would take the first coveted trophy of the annual event.
Nana Sir Ofori Atta I National Energy Quiz is owned by Eastern Star Awards Co. Limited and is being partnered by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS).
It is an annual competition aimed at educating the youth in both Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) on the energy sector. The competition under the auspices of the president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene and Nananom of the Eleven (11) Paramountcy of the Eastern Region is a useful platform where students learn the fundamentals of the energy industry to increase their knowledge in the industry.

WHO WE ARE
The 2nd Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I National Energy Quiz (NEQ) is an annual competition aimed at educating the youth in both Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) on the energy sector. The competition under the auspices of the president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene and Nananom of the Eleven (11) Paramountcy of the Eastern Region is a useful platform where students learn the fundamentals of the energy industry to increase their knowledge in the industry.
This helps too, among other things, whip up their enthusiasm to take up careers in the industry by studying energy-related courses at the tertiary level as well as be in a better position to demand transparency and accountability in the industry as they become future energy leaders and pioneers.
As a quiz that is accessible to Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across the country, NEQ is also aired on radio, TV and published in print media. This year, we hope to leverage on social media to extend our reach and create a cult-like following among students, parents, schools, teachers and old students of participating schools.

NEQ’s vision is to create global future energy leaders who are confident, knowledgeable and will ensure accountability and our mission is to implement numerous activities to increase energy knowledge among the youth using education and social inclusion techniques. NEQ’s objectives are to:
Build a community of students with appreciable knowledge and interest in the energy industry;
Producing global leaders who are conscious of the fact that they are accountable to society;
Establishing Nationwide energy innovation hubs; and
Develop a global standard curriculum for energy studies in second cycle schools
