Residents of Ashaiman, a city in the Greater Accra Region are demanding from the government to return an 11 Km raid project assigned to the town but was later gifted to the neighboring city, Tema.
According to the aggrieved residents who on Tuesday October 5th, 2023, took to the street to demonstrate against the government especially the department in charge of roads to return what is rightfully theirs.
“Our roads have turned to a death trap leading to major traffic jams happening in the town. There are leaders living and plying those roads yet pay deaf ears to the situation,” says an aggrieved demonstrator.
In a random interview, one Angelina said she lost her pregnancy due to the death trap called potholes sometime back.
Residents are calling on the government to come and fix the bad roads or forget about campaigning in Ashaiman during elections as they are not willing to vote in 2024.
