The Ashanti Youth in the ruling NPP have strongly condemned the recent outburst by Andy Owusu, an aide to Chairman Wontumi, during an interview on Kessben Fm.
The youth find the baseless allegations and insinuations against Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK) , the General Secretary of the party, as unnecessary, unproductive, and irresponsible, especially considering that the issue involving Chairman Wontumi and Manhyia has been resolved.
The youth question the motive behind Andy Owusu’s interview and raise concerns about his authority to make such statements.
They seek clarification on whether it was instructed by Chairman Wontumi or part of Owusu’s independent actions.
In a stern message, the youth emphasize JFK’s role as a true friend of the party’s grassroots and warn that any attack on him is perceived as an attack on the foot soldiers of the party in and beyond the Ashanti Region, and it will be resisted.
The statement calls for a retraction of the statements made by Andy Owusu and demands an unqualified apology.
It stresses the importance of unity and party cohesion, especially after the parliamentary primaries, and warns against any form of distraction that may hinder the party’s focus on winning the 2024 elections.
The youth express hope that all aspirants will unite for the 2024 victory train, emphasizing that no individual interest should supersede the collective goal of securing victory for DMB (presumed candidate).
They issue a clear warning to detractors, emphasizing the party’s determination to achieve its objectives without any internal disruptions.
