Ashantigold President Dr Kwaku Frimpong has reacted to allegations of his involvement in match-fixing last season.
The President of the miners alongside his Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Frimpong have been slapped with charges of match manipulation in their matchday 34 of the Ghana Premier League against Inter Allies at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.
The image of Ghana football was dented when Ashantigold defeated Inter Allies 7-0 on home turf.
Inter Allies captain Hashmin Musah revealed after the game that he deliberately scored two own goals in order to foil a bet placed on the match.
In an interview with Kumasi based Akoma FM, Dr Kwaku Frimpong disclosed he does not bet on matches but rather has prophets who prophesy his matches.
He has therefore charged the Ghana FA to do the right with regards to match-fixing allegations.
“I don’t do betting but rather I have prophets who prophesy on our game and give us results, and when I come out with the results, they say I engage in betting”
“I don’t want to talk much on my case (Ashantigold/Inter Allies) because I trust GFA to do the right thing,” he said.
