The free-kick genius is reported to have suffered a ligament injury during the sides 5-2 defeat to Legon Cities FC on matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League and had to be substituted in that match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The enterprising midfielder has since been out of action for the miners and according to George Chidi, McCarthy will undergo surgery on June 2, 2021, and will therefore miss the rest of the season.
