Police Officers at Asiakwa Police station escaped death Thursday, May 14, 2020.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the accident occurred when the Suspect driver Leticia Awuah, in charge of a Private Toyota corolla saloon with registration number GE 4883-18 with the boyfriend, Awuah Maxwell, 32 at the front, driving from Asiakwa ADB Bank Area to enter Asiakwa to Kibi main road.
However, on reaching a junction, the suspect driver failed to observe traffic and entered the road to hit the rear side of a Toyota Corolla taxi cab with Registration Number GG 2973- 17 from SOS village direction to Asiakwa market.
He said the impact caused the Private car to reverse and ran into the police station building and causing serious damage to it.
A Police Constable, Mavis Amemesor, who was running away from the charge office sustained injuries and rushed to Osino Government hospital for treatment.
