The General Secretary of the largest opposition party the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has taken his campaign to the Eastern Region.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia’s invasion of the region on Wednesday I strategic considering that it is happening barely two weeks to the election.
He will visit many Communities starting from Ayensuano constituency to trumpet the records of John Dramani Mahama and share details of the NDC’s manifesto to the people.
The Eastern Region is the home region of the current President Nana Akufo Addo who is seeking reelection.
The President visited parts of the region on Sunday and Monday to Campaign.
The NPP polled 626,893 votes representing 63.11% while the NDC garnered 355,798 representing 35.83% in 2016 Presidential Election.
Both parties have targeted to maximize their votes.
Ghana will hold presidential and parliamentary elections on Dec. 7 to elect a president and 275 legislators.
In all, 12 candidates including an independent candidate are contesting the Presidential seat, however, the contest is mainly between the incumbent President and New Patriotic Party candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former President and National Democratic Congress’ John Dramani Mahama.
This is the third time the two political opponents will be contesting the presidential election.
Mahama won in 2012, while Akufo-Addo defeated him in the 2016 polls.
