Aspiring Assembly Member for Beposo James Town Electoral Area in the West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region, Mensah David Atakora has pledged to use digitization to develop his area when Electorates consider him.
Mensah Atakora, who is a Journalist by Profession noted that Digital technologies have advanced more rapidly than any innovation in history, reaching around 50 per cent of the developing world’s population in only two decades and transforming societies.
Outlining his vision, Mensah Atakora said digitalization has enhanced connectivity, public services, accessibility to information, easy and immediate communication and ability to share information, new jobs, and increased commercial competition.
The Aspirant who is contesting with five other candidates, highest number in the West Akyem Municipality’s 32 Electoral Areas said he will use Facebook and WhatsApp platforms to connect the people in the area, organize and project business, projects work, challenges and make the people to develop the Sense of belongingness.
Mr. Atakora who is currently a Public Administration and Information Studies Student at the University of Ghana promised to Frequently Educate people in the electoral area on National and Local Assembly policies and projects and Maintain close contact with people in the by consulting with them on regular basis especially before each Assembly meeting on issues to be discussed at the Assembly.
He said Frequent Information dissemination will be his priority and address Issues on Sanitation, Street Lightening and Portable water which are some of the main challenges in the Electoral Area.
