Assembly Member at Sasa Bomso electoral area in Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, Hon Andrews Owusu, has reacted to the excessive accident cases recorded on our roads which has become the most talked-about issue in the country.
He complained the rate at which accidents occur keeps increasing annually due to the inactivity of the National Road Safety Authority and the MTTD of the police service who are major stakeholders.
According to him, about high time laws on our roads regulations are implemented by authorities to protect and decrease the regular road accidents.
He added that the operations of the National Road Safety Authority should be decentralized and collaborate with MTTD to monitor the drivers on how best they can comply with road safety rules to prevent accidents.
Hon. Andrews Owusu also urged drivers to be cautious on the road as we are getting closer to Christmas and charged car owners are to maintain their cars regularly.
He then advised passengers not to provoke drivers on our roads to help prevent the numerous accidents in the country.
