MP-Elect for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson, has filed an appeal challenging the order by the High Court hearing his alleged perjury case to be heard daily.
He has also filed an application to stay proceedings in the trial pending determination of his appeal at the Court of Appeal.
The grounds of his appeal include several cited errors of law by the trial judge in breach of the re-elected MP’s right to a fair trial.
The Motion for Stay of Proceedings will be moved tomorrow before the High court by lead counsel, Tsatsu Tsikata.
