The Finance Minister and immediate former Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has called his tenure as head of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus in Parliament an honor and a privilege.
During his farewell speech as Majority Leader on Thursday, January 23, Dr. Forson thanked the party and his colleagues for giving him such a big responsibility.
As he reflected on his time there, Dr. Forson emphasized the NDC Caucus’s joint efforts to further Ghanaians’ interests.
He gave his colleagues credit for their perseverance and commitment in negotiating the challenges of parliamentary leadership.
“Serving as the Majority Leader has been one of the greatest honours of my career,” he remarked.
Dr. Forson also took the opportunity to promise Ghanaians that their goals would always be at the heart of his efforts in his new position as Minister of Finance.
“In my capacity as Minister of Finance, I pledge to work tirelessly for the people of Ghana, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of the people of Ghana remain at the forefront of our agenda,” he stated.
