John Kwame Adade, Special Aide to Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi ,and Hon. Opoku Gyamfi, is facing allegations of creating tension and engaging in activities that could potentially harm the unity of the New Juaben South constituency.
Accusations include obtaining nomination forms and approaching polling station executives who endorsed the forms for the MP’s opponent, Yaa Ansaa Safori.
This has raised concerns about the perceived behavior of the MP’s team, suggesting an attempt to discourage competition.
The concerned party member Kwabena Boateng who raised concern states the importance of healthy competition in the upcoming primaries, stating that an uncontested victory would not be beneficial for the party in the 2024 elections.
Addressing the Eastern Regional executives, the Kwabena Boateng alias KB expresses confidence in their leadership and calls for a fair and transparent process without unwarranted disqualifications.
He alleged threats, harassment, and intimidation towards polling station executives supporting Yaa Ansaa Safori and condemned same as disgraceful and barbaric in modern-day politics.
KB highlights Yaa Ansaa Safori’s loyalty to the NPP, recalling her involvement in the 2020 parliamentary primaries.
He warned against creating disunity in an already fragile constituency and call on party leadership at both the constituency and regional levels to intervene and rectify the situation.
The message concludes with a reminder of past actions and a plea for a more united and respectful approach within the party.
The New Patriotic Party announced the committees for vetting Parliamentary Aspirants, with Laud Commey, Dr. Charles Dwamena, and Haruna Mohammed leading three teams in Eastern Region as national representatives.
The vetting which started Wednesday January 3 at the Residency of the Eastern Regional Minister will end January 5, 2024, across regional capitals.
