An insidious attempt to tarnish the reputation of Akuapem South Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Frank Aidoo, has spectacularly backfired.
Recent events in the Pakro community saw residents intercepting a truck laden with stolen railway tracks, unloading them in the heart of the community. This action was prompted by the MCE’s proactive engagement with the community to combat the menace of railway track theft.
In a further display of commitment, Mr. Aidoo promptly penned a letter dated January 14, 2024, to the Ministry of Railway Development, urgently requesting action to curb the theft of railway tracks within the municipality. He also alerted the Eastern Regional Minister, local police, and Eastern Regional Police command, urging them to investigate and apprehend the culprits.
These actions shed light on recent sponsored publications that falsely accused the MCE of involvement in illicit activities, such as cutting and selling railway metals to scrap dealers.
Mr. Aidoo emphatically refuted these baseless allegations, asserting that they were malicious attempts to besmirch his reputation, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming Parliamentary primary in Akuapem South, which he intends to contest.
While railway track theft remains a nationwide concern, the Akuapem South Assembly’s proactive measures underscore their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the integrity of railway infrastructure within the municipality.
The failed attempt to malign Mr. Aidoo serves as a testament to the resilience of truth and integrity in the face of falsehoods and deception.
