The three countries were suspended from the AU following military coups
The African Union (AU) now has a permanent seat at the Group of 20 (G20).
While admitting the AU into the bloc during the G20 summit last weekend, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Africa’s admission as a diplomatic victory.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who took part in the summit, said, “As a continent, we look forward to further advancing our aspirations on the global stage using the G20 platform.”
